New Shipping Policy

On January 4th, 2021 we are moving away from a free shipping policy to a paid shipping policy. Don't worry, THIS ACTUALLY LOWERS SHIPPING COSTS FOR CUSTOMERS, among other benefits! Learn more under the "Understanding Our New Shipping Policy" tab.

Basic Shipping Info

  • Lead times are subject to frequent changes - contact us for a lead time on specific products.
  • Orders are processed and shipped during standard business days (Mon-Fri). Order placed on weekends and holidays will be processed the following business day.
  • Some addresses within the USA and Canada are subject to additional "remote access" fees on freight shipments. You can check your own zip code in the "Remote Access Charges" tab below.
  • Deliveries of products over 140 lbs are shipped freight and may require lift gate service (No Charge). Simply select lift-gate service if you'd like help unloading your new attachment!

Understanding Our New Shipping Policy

What Happened to Free Shipping!?

"Free Shipping" generally means that the shipping cost is estimated and built into the price of a product. It's never really free - you're just seeing it added into the original price rather than at the checkout page. Our new policy is designed to provide lower and more accurate rates, more options, and faster delivery.

Understanding Our New Shipping Policy

  1. We have eliminated the estimated shipping cost on all products, lowing our prices to MSRP/base price.
  2. We have negotiated with our carriers (ODFL, USPS, and FedEx) to get the lowest possible shipping rates, to keep costs as low as possible for customers. In most cases your total price now will actually be lower than it was with the "free shipping" model. You won't be charged an estimated shipping price, you'll be paying an accurate, low rate.
  3. Shipping prices can be instantly calculated for any product and address within the lower 48 states. Contact us for rapidly generated quotes for shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, and elsewhere.
  4. You can avoid remote access fees with ODFL Service Centers or by shipping to a non remote access zip code (details below).
  5. Complimentary lift gate service on freight shipments.

We are excited to move forward with more transparency, lower prices, and as always, the best skid steer and excavator attachments and accessories. That's what makes us Skid Steer Solutions - The Trusted Equipment Source.

Remote Access Charges and How to Avoid

On April 1, 2019, some areas of the United States were deemed "remote access zones". For freight shipments only (over 140 lb), addresses within a remote access zone will have a remote access handling fee applied at checkout - between $50 and $500 depending on how far "out of the way" it is. Search your zip code below to see if it falls within a remote access zone.

Our new shipping program gives you a couple of options to avoid the charge

  1. Select a Nearby Old Dominion Service Center as your Ship To Address and pick-up your order when it arrives (No Handling Fee): Click Here
  2. Choose a new ship-to address that's outside of the handling fee zones. If you have a business address or facility you can ship-to, this is an option.

Freight Shipping and Lift Gate Service

  • Orders over 140 lb will be shipped freight through ODFL. Freight shipments through ODFL require someone to be present when the pallet arrives to sign the receipt of goods and receive the package.
  • A representative at ODFL will give you a call a day in advance to give you an estimated time of arrival (usually around mid day). If nobody is there to receive the package you will be charged a NO-SHOW FEE ($80-$475 depending on each case).

Lift Gate Service

  • Please let us know if your shipping address has a loading dock or forklift capabilities. If it does not, you will require lift gate service for safe unloading, which we will include in with your order at no extra charge.

Freight Damages and Lost Shipments

In the rare case of receiving an item that has been damaged during transit, it is your responsibility to note any and all damage on the Bill of Lading (BOL), upon delivery. DO NOT SIGN THE BOL if you receive a damaged item, and make sure to have it noted on the BOL that the item was received damaged. You will also be responsible for filing a freight claim with the carrier. For our part, we will do everything we can to be an advocate on your behalf, and assist in negotiating with the carrier to remedy the situation.

In the equally rare case of a lost shipment, please notify us if you have not received your order in a timely manner. We stock the majority of items we advertise and sell, and pride ourselves on prompt, accurate shipments. If your order has been lost in transit, we will work with the carrier to find it. Please give us up to two weeks to notify the carrier of the issue and to locate your order. If after exhausting all avenues, and verifying with the carrier that your order is indeed lost, we will ship an additional item to you at no cost.

Shipping to Canada

Basic Information

  • All shipments to Canada will require a signature upon receipt.
  • Parcel shipments will ship using USPS, UPS, or FedEX. Freight Shipments will use ODFL.
  • All sale prices are in US Dollars.
  • Our rates are set-up to offer a quote for delivery to a major metropolitan city in your province. We are unable to provide quotes to smaller and more remote locations. When you finalize your order, you will be sent a separate email explaining which city we can ship to at the price quoted. You can then arrange for delivery to a business in that city, or pick-up yourself. If you would like to have an item shipped closer to you, we will contact a Canadian shipper to handle the end-of-the-line logistics and additional costs will likely incur.

How to Save Money

We have a long history of shipping products to Canada. These are our suggestions on the most cost-effective method for Canadians:

  • Ship your item(s) to a US address close to the border.
  • Pick the item(s) up on the US side.
  • Import the items yourself using your personal exemptions and informal entry.
  • Have the items shipped in bond and self-clear them.
  • You will be required to fill out the Skid Steer Solutions Canada Customs form yourself.

If this is a solution you are interested in. Feel free to get in touch with any questions or for further details.

Drop Ship Locations in the USA for Canadian Pick-Up

In order to offer our Canadian customers a cost saving solution, we have partnered with two pick-up locations near the border on the US side. This allows you to come down, pick up your items, and then import the items yourself. This will help you save money on brokerage and shipping charges. Please note that these locations charge fees for storage and pick-up. Please contact your pick-up location for further details and information.

Payment from Canadian Customers

We accept all major credit cards as well as bank-to-bank wire transfers. We are not responsible for any credit card fees or fees associated with out-of-country purchases. If you are unsure of the exchange rate or fees you may be charged by your bank for an out-of-country transaction, we recommended you consult with your bank before finalizing any purchase. We do not accept out-of-country purchase orders or checks unless they are certified and drawn on a US bank. We are unable to offer credit or terms on Canadian purchases. Once a product is shipped across the border we are unable to retrieve the shipment in the event of non-payment.

When you export goods from the US to Canada, you are required to use a broker. The broker will manage the collection of all duties and taxes. When you purchase from Skid Steer Solutions, you are paying only for the item(s) in your order as well as shipping. Your broker will collect any taxes and/or duties as well as an additional brokerage fee. If you have any questions or concerns, please consult with your broker before finalizing your purchase. You are not required to use a broker if you pick-up the goods in the US and enter Canada with the items in your personal possession. Canadian citizens can make an informal entry and pay taxes and duties personally without using a broker. The invoice must be in your personal name and this does not apply to products imported under your business name.

The majority of our attachments are made in the US or Canada. Skid Steer Solutions has a NAFTA certificate in place, allowing our customers to bring attachments across the border duty free. Attachments that qualify as farm attachments are also exempt from duty charges. If you have any questions, please contact us before purchasing.

Sale Price in US Dollars

Please note that all pricing advertised and displayed on Skid Steer Solutions is in US Dollars. For Canadian customers, these prices should be used for estimating the final cost of your purchase in Canadian Dollars, as exchange rates will apply. The financial institution you use to send payment may charge you at varied rates depending on their policies and the time of your transaction. We do not accept cancellations because of a customer’s dissatisfaction with the exchange rates.

International Shipping

In many cases, we do offer International Shipping. Due to the complicated nature of these shipments, we ask that you please place your order over the phone at 1-866-966-2538 and discuss the details with one of our customer service representatives. Our Returns Policy and Warranty Policy do not apply to International Shipments.
