SURCHARGES:
Over the past several months we have seen a steady increase in pricing from our suppliers due to the current volatile economic landscape. While we have worked hard to absorb as many of these expenses as possible, we have reached a point where we must pass a portion of these increases on to the marketplace. As you will note from our revised pricing, we have done so in the form of a surcharge to reflect in full transparency the impact of these recent increases on our products. We will continue to closely monitor our input costs as well as work with our suppliers to offer the most competitive pricing we can going forward.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Product overview
INS Traction TKS Series Maximum Grip Tire Studs
The Maximum Grip tire studs from Traction Kings gives you the ability to have traction on any terrain, at any given time of the year. These studs are easy to install, are extremely durable, and reliable in the toughest conditions. The length of these studs is 1.4" to ensure that they will not fall out of your tracks/tires.
These studs have a hex-style head with a protruding carbide tip. To install these studs, you will need a low-torque power drill/driver. An installation tool is also available for purchase. These tire studs are designed to have the maximum grip and last you a long time. Being noticeably longer than other options, you must ensure that your tire tread depth exceeds the 1.4" length of these studs. The high-quality build of these studs will ensure durability and longevity so that you can continue operating your skid steer for seasons to come.
After some time, the carbide tips from these studs will wear down, and for removal, simply unscrew the stud from your tire with the same tools that you install them with.
Determining Which Size Is Right
Avoid using studs that exceed the tread depth; for instance, use a 17 mm stud for an 18 mm tread depth. Ensure that 3 mm of the stud protrudes above the tire surface, leaving a 2 mm buffer to the cord. The cord thickness ranges from 4 to 20 mm, depending on the tire type. For optimal results, determine the number of contact patches on the tire and develop a strategic approach for stud placement.
NOTE: PLEASE ENSURE THE SIZE OF THE STUDS DO NOT EXCEED THE DEPTH OF YOUR TRACKS/TIRES TREADS BEFORE PURCHASE, YOU MAY DAMAGE YOUR TRACKS/TIRES.
Correct Installation
- Use a low torque driver at fairly slow speed
- Screw the stud in until the washer (underside) visually makes contact with the rubber
- Go no more that 1/2 turn past that point.
- We recommend using 30mm or 1" studs for skid steer or compact loader installations because of the amount of tearing action the machines can produce when turning. It is your responsibility to measure and order the correct length to insure they cannot pull out. It they are too short, they will pull out.
Disclaimer
Studs are designed to add traction to your tires by adding a solid bite to your tires/tracks. This bite can easily break through snow and ice and scratch the base surface. In the case of a driveway, these scratches will leave marks. Care must be taken not to skid turn on important surfaces where you do not want to leave a mark. This means, if you do not want to scratch your clients driveway, you need to be careful or do not use studs. In most cases these marks are not permanent and will just was or wear away after a few rain storms. Please note that Skid Steer Solutions or our stud manufacturer do not assume any liability with how you use this product.
