The Eterra Auger Stump Planer is a high quality, affordable stump planer/grinder that is designed to be used with the Eterra 3500 and 4500 model auger drives. Do you ever get random stumps that stand in the way of your progress, but not enough of them to justify buying a dedicated stump-grinding machine? Chances are that you have been spending a lot of money having someone else come in and grind them away for you. The good news is, your Eterra Auger for skid steer loaders or excavators can now attach the Stump Planer to your 2-inch hex drive with a minimum of 2,200 ft. lbs. This combination works extremely well with the Eterra 3500 and 4500 model auger drives. Please Note: This Stump Planer is not intended to replace a traditional stump grinder, and it will not win in a head to head performance stand-off. This stump planer is meant to be a useful addition to your Auger Drive Attachment to help you "drill" stumps out, just like you would holes in the ground with your auger bit. It's an extremely handy accessory to have around, and careful use will make sure it has a long service life.

Compatibility

As long as the paired auger has a 2" Hex output shaft, and the proper amount of torque then it will work just the same. Contact our product experts if you have any questions about this.

Previous User UPDATE: The Eterra Stump Planer is no longer using a threaded style pilot head, please contact us if you have any questions about replacing older style parts. This new style fits together and uses a retaining pin to ensure the pilot tooth stays locked in place, but also ensures it is easy to replace if you ever need to. No more pilot heads unwinding in the stump or welding themselves under immense torque and pressure to the shaft. The Stump Planer uses 3 steel tool cutters and a starter tip, which can all be sharpened or replaced throughout its life. You simply position it over your stump and start grinding it away. It will go up to 18 inches deep, so rest assured the entire stump can be erased from the surface. It features guides on the trailing edge of the cutters, so there is now way the planer can jump back out of the hole. The starter tip feeds the planer all the way through the stump, so it doesn't overload itself with cutting surface and prevents it from getting stuck. 

A really neat advantage to this style of planer is that you can drill all of the way through the stump which is much deeper than a regular grinder is capable of. Most dedicated stump grinders can go 6 - 10" deep into the ground.  This attachment can be used in conjunction with auger extensions and drill for many feet. 

Stump Planer Torque Requirements

Your torque output is going to depend on the rating of your auger drive combined with the hydraulic flow of your loader. Please refer to the specs of your auger drive, or consult with the manufacturer, if you're unsure of its torque output

• 10" Stump Planer Torque Range: 2,200-6,000 Ft. Lbs.
• 14" Stump Planer Torque Range: 3,300-6,000 Ft. Lbs.
