| Skid Steer Scrap Magnet
Finally, there is an Electro-Magnet available for skid steer loaders. This has been a long time coming, but well worth the wait. The KM-10 Electro-Magnet is specifically designed with skid steer operators in mind. This product is quite ingenious. It uses a hydraulically driven generator to create 5500 watts of electricity which in turn runs through the core of a 28" aluminum wound circular magnet. This creates a very large magnetic field capable of lifting hundreds of pounds of steel in a single lift.
The only limiting factor is the lifting capacity of your skid loader. With that in mind, we recommend this product only to owners of machines in the 2000 lb. plus category of loaders to be safe.

May 10, 2006 Update - Just spent 2 hours testing the KM-10. WOW! What a blast. We ran around our lot picking up just about anything we could. Everything from skid steer buckets to whole mowers, the KM-10 was up for it. Loose scrap jumped off the ground as we approached. We even threw some Canadian coins on the ground and watched them dance while the magnet was 18 inches away. When we got within 12 inches, they jumped off the ground and into the magnet. For anyone in the scrap business, this is definitely a worthwhile attachment. For the rest of us, it is just really cool. When it is time to clean up our lot, I know what tool I will be using.
