New Product Announcement!
Skid Steer Solutions announces the production of our own flat proof tires for skid steer loaders. Branded under our eTerra label, these flat proof tires pick up where the others left off. Through updated design criteria and added rubber, we have improved the basic performance of these tires ten fold.
What have we done to improve our tires?
We added rubber to the base of the tread and spaced the holes out wider so the tread is better supported. This additional support resists cracking between the holes and between the holes and the tread. This base has also been extended out under the tread. A larger support base means less weight per square inch being absorbed by the tread. The extra support helps you keep from tearing the edge of lugging off when running tracks.
Running tracks on skid steer flat proof tires.
We started in business as a track company. We have run skid steer loader flat proof tires on all sorts of over the tire track systems. What we did on our own tires, was to increase the side wall thickness so that the tracks rode with only a small amount of side to side slippage. This keeps the tracks from riding over and scratching your frame and also protects the side of the tread from being torn off by the edge of the track.
Our wheel size.
Our wheel size is similar to standard pneumatic wheels. This means that the area normally filled by your sidewall is filled with rubber. Our unique honey comb system gives the tires added cushioning. This cushioning effect has been engineered to have a similar feel to pneumatic tires. You get the best of both worlds. An air ride feel, but without the risk of a flat tire.
What has eTerra done to improve the quality and performance of our flat proof tires?
First, we added rubber under the tread and brought the sidewall out to support the base of the tread better. This also makes the tires run better with over the tire tracks which could actually pull the edge of the lugs off because of lack of support.
Second, we made the wheel the proper size and increased the thickness of the supporting base rubber. This makes the ride much smoother for both tired operations and over the tire track operations. The extra rubber also adds cushioning support to keep the tires from breaking down quickly.
Third, we have kept the price competitive with other manufacturers. This is not even fair! We all use the same synthetic materials and those materials cost the same. We use more of these raw materials and we craft them into a better design, yet we charge the same. When you are making comparisons, please note the extra weight due to the extra rubber used.
