The EZ-Auger is a Skid Steer Auger created by us to use for a boring project that we had to do. It has been redesigned for late 2006 with more features and an updated appearance. We feel we have taken a great product with a 4 year old superior track record and made it even better. Our original boring experience is quite a legend among those who have followed our site for many years. It is our customer's experiences that have really shown it to be a superior product.

We have completed our first five acres of vineyard which entailed augering some 1200 holes 42" deep with the 9" auger plus another 2800 holes, 24" deep with the 18" auger. We are now starting to repeat the process for another 5 acres. My congratulations to you people for a first class piece of kit which has held up perfectly. We did have to replace the teeth on the 9" auger as they were completely worn away. For those who do not know the boring project, please read on.
We used our standard universal backplate which can be used with our EZ-Splitter and added it to the EZ-Auger. We then added 35 feet of 2" water pipe and proceeded to drill a 6" hole horizontally under a driveway so that we could run utilities out to a new shop being built on the property. We hand-dug a three foot slot on the other end of the driveway so that we knew when the auger would be exiting from under the driveway. It took us one hour once we started drilling but we made it and we hit the slot dead center. The auger drilled straight and stayed horizontal without any deflection.

The #1 question we receive is "How does this compare to the Bobcat chain drive units?" Our response: It does not compare. The larger machines are just that. They are designed for heavy commercial use whereby you can run a bit size up to 48". We realized quite early that most people just want to drill post holes in 6", 9" or 12" diameter or the odd pole building support hole up to 24". Our unit is more than adequate for this task. When you are done, you can unbolt it and use the backplate for other attachments while storing the auger inside where it will last you for many, many years.

The standard assembly includes the back plate, the auger with swivel, hoses and fittings. It does not come with a bit unless ordered separately.

Available bit sizes - 6”, 9”, 12”, 14”, 18”, 24”, 18” & 24” tree planting bits are also available. These are optional and must be ordered from the accessories page.

New Features designed into the E Series model shipping after August 2006 is a more compact and stronger frame. The strength of this frame allowed us to change the hanging angle so the frame can be tilted back and support the bit. This allows you to easily lay the auger down with the bit extended which makes it great for loading on a truck or trailer. With over 500 of these in the field and no failures, we have stayed with the same proven motor. It is a roller stator drive that is designed for auger use and is of the highest quality made in America.

Maximum flow and maximum pressure conditions must not occur simultaneously. We have constructed the quick connect so that it lines up with several connecting pin styles. The auger detaches from the back plate so you can use buy the auger only and adapt it to your application or use the back plate for some of the new exciting attachments such as the EZ-Splitter or simply store the auger on a shelf when not in use.
